http://www.guitardragons.com for more tips. This lesson is on how to play a few power chords for guitar. Works for both electric and acoustic alike. I have attempted to simplify it as much as possible so i don't come off patronizing. This is not a comprehensive guide just something to get you started. In part two i will look at constructing power chords and minor specific power variations and a few other things. Check out the site where there is a text version of the video for further study + there's a ton of other cool tips there.

  • well the notes are BGB so i imagine the chord would be a B/G? something like this or in the nature of Bm

  • I'm learning to play Iron man with power chords..... So it uses the 2nd and 3rd stings (beginning) and I can do it until the 12, 10, and 11, 9 part I can't get it down enough. Can you give me any tips?

  • @gamer54376 Try watching a couple of vids. If you can visualize something you usually get it down much quicker.

  • which plectrum should i use to play PC on an acoustic ?

  • @DrAlbertHoffman - heavier plectrums are better. I generally use dunlop. However if you are gonna switch between power chords and really fast strumming i prefer to use a lighter one. - Just hold the plectrum closer to the nub on power chords and then release on really fast strumming. - But in general i stick to the heavier ones. You break more strings but ah well :-)
