How Do Three-Phase Rectifiers Work?Three-phase rectifiers are powered from three-phase alternating current mains. The system includes a three-phase transformer.VD1 diode switches on within the interval t1-t2. Phase A powers the load resistance. At t2 moment diodes switches: VD1 diode closes while VD2 diode opens.VD2 diode switches on within the interval t2-t3. Phase B powers the load resistance. At t3 moment diodes switches: VD2 diode closes while VD3 diode opens.VD3 diode switches on within the interval t3-t4. Phase C powers the load resistance.Summed current flowing through the load resistance equals to the sum of current of individual phases. The circuit pulse factor is 0.25.The pulse factor stands for the ratio between the amplitude of the most intense harmonic component of output voltage or current to the average voltage or current.
