  • Hi!!! I´m trying to make new things for my kids but I don´t know what happened the batter turn out creamy and OILY is it normal????

Where we live it´s very dificult to get gluten free snacks so i´ll try to make them but it didn´t turn out really good. The only changes I made it was that I used rice flour and rice milk the rest was the same.....can you help me????

  • @kikona2010

I am sure I can help you. It may take a bit of back and forth however. How did the baked good turn out? What was the consistency. Did you use all rice flour or did you mix rice flour with another gluten-free flour? Do you have an oven thermometer in your oven? Most ovens, in my experience, are off by about 25 to 40 degrees, which can make a big difference in the outcome of a baked product. I am out of characters to reply to this post, so I will post a 2nd comment. Love, Lisa Lundy

From the Author, Lisa A. Lundy - continuation of my previous post:

If you used convection bake in your oven, I would recommend turning this OFF. For some reason convection bake does not work although I do not know why. If you are going to make this again, use 1/2 rice flour and 1/2 some other gluten-free flour. Also, hold back some of the liquid. No matter what - with a bit of tinkering, we will get you to be successful with your baking. Let me know how you make out. Love,

    Lisa

  • Bake for 25 minutes or until done in a 350 degree oven. Use an oven thermometer to make sure your oven is at 350 degrees to ensure best baking. Most ovens (even new ones) are off by 25 or more degrees. Good luck.

    Love,

    Lisa
