UFO- Los Roques Weapons Platform Featurette

This is another mini featurette of the Los Roques Weapons Platform. This concept footage will not be usd in the movie since it will contain upgraded effects and live action with actors. However, this video demonstrates the "possible" behaviors and scenarios the Ship might experience.

This was created in about 30 hours due to the fact that I was learning Lightwave 3D. Software used in this video: Lightwave 3D, Adobe After Effects, Sony Vegas, Vue 6. I have much more to learn. Life is a learning experience to be savored....cheers.

The shimmer effect is extremely realistic at 6:10; although some of the buildings and the maneuvering effects are not as realistic. The last attack with explosion need more flame, and the debris looked "pixel-ish". All in all another good video in the series.

I love the feel of these videos, their in touch with something that relays a true experience.

It would have been dramatic if the tree leaves, trash, roof tiles etc and branches blew forward and backward in relation to the motion of the craft in a delayed way due to air pressure. You know he already thought of this, most likely budget.

Manbird... your videos are amazing... You made a comment that you're more of a visualist than an animator... being a visualist IS what makes a great CGI artist. The training to use these programs can be learned, but the imagination and creativity is a whole other ballgame, and you've got it dude. Apply with ILS or one of the many out there... you've got some skill bro.
