Isn´t ZenPapageno a little out of this space? But really good novel here, anyway.

ANDY: Mr. Dylan, what exactly are your intentions concerning Edie? DYLAN: Well, you see, I .. ANDY: As the producer of more than 50 movies, I think I know more about motion pictures than you. I question your motives. Dylan: Hey, you got me all wrong. ANDY: I may not be your idea of a "he-man," but if anyone is a threat to that fragile child, I am MAD, as MAD AS A WET HEN, and willing to FIGHT TO THE DEATH FOR MY BABY BIRD! I suggest that you leave, or that we step outside and settle this.

from ANDY WARHOL'S DRACULA ... No more, Count Dracula, will you sink you filthy fangs into my little white neck! I shall escape this castle and be free of the unholy bondage with which you enslave these miserable creatures who ... Oh, don't give me that look! Shit! This is all about YOU, huh? Where are my Nembutals? I do not smell.

from FACTORY BOY ... EDIE: It's been great, Andy, but I feel stifled here at the Factory. I need to grow. I'm anorexic. I have an odor. I have constant nightmares, tremors. It's time for a change. I want to sign a contract with ... ANDY: I'm phoning Bob Dylan right now ... Bob? There's a special friend of mine who wants to speak with you! I don't think she's "Miss Lonely" anymore, because she has A DIRECTION HOME! And SHE'S NO ROLLING STONE! EDIE: Andy, are you crying?

There was no magic word Andy could have used to stop his actors from abusing drugs while they were making movies with him, except maybe Cut.

Actually, tuition for the Movie Star Training Academy was on a sliding scale based on the resources of the individual. When the applicant said, How much will it cost? Andy would always say, How much have you got?

Andy insisted that, however weak, his actors were never made more responsive and interesting by clearly unethical methods, such as a cattle prod. A practicing Catholic who had denounced Edie as promiscuous and bulimic, Andy would have been applauded for having her flogged.

The idea that Andy tossed Edie aside is a myth. He anticipated her immanent suicide, but he figured he could squeeze a few movies out of her before her last breath and tried his best to keep her in line. A penny saved is a penny earned!

Heres my scenario for Factory Boy. The Plucky Pittsburgh Printmaker takes on the WASP Establishment to save a fragile princess with fashion and freedom, until his heart is broken by hippie scum from Woodstock. Songs by Weezer.
