Jim Rickards has great economics but I don't like his foreign policy. The USA needs to stay home and tend to its own business.

I agee.I do like James Rickards economic views but I don't think he is knowledgable on foreign policy at all.

@ShaneChiswick Can't find it right now but it was in the fall and he had just attended a conference talking about how bright the future was (maybe a TED talk) he was mentioning basically how great a futuristic society was with all the typical fawning of a guy who saw a lot of upside to the vision and little downside.
-
and why do neither google nor youtube have threaded comments like reddit or slashdot for example, drives me nuts.
-
how did the talk veer to bitcoin?

I read "Currency Wars" and was impressed. This guy knows his shit. And it should include politics and history of the region.
Don't know why he toots the US horn, but I'm sure he's aware he's delivering biased info.
This guy has contacts high up in secret agencies and who knows where, maybe there's dependency, pressure or whatever or it's somehow in his own interest to spin the Iran story that way.

Bitcoin mining is not a vacuum it's used to validate transactions and secure the block chain thus providing value you get paid like a gold miner would, if your lucky you will find bitcoins.
So yes I still have the computers I still mine bitcoins and I still buy them.
-
@elMONGOreal I didn't even mention bitcoin.
-
@davincij15 Man, are you trying to tell me you're not the guy who had a bank of computers in a room with a bunch of box fans roaring to keep from melting down as you vacuumed bitcoins from the internet?
The only problem with your reasoning is that Iran's nuclear program began back in 1994. It might be tangentially related to our presence, but it is not directly related to that presence or our actions. Their reason for developing nuclear weapons has for more to do with the power it gives them to genuinely challenge the state of Israel and to deter attack from more powerful nations like the United States. That's the same reason they've been feverishly working to create IRBMs & ICBMs.

Let me get this straight... If you have a nation, yes you personally and Americans over throw your leader you demecraticly elected (1954) then installs a brutal dictator, you over thow him and get even more bad guys taking over (shaws) then give WMDs to your neighbor who kills millions in a long war.
Then you get rid of the bad dictators go back to democracy and you are saying you would not try to get a nuclear weapon to defend your nation?

You have to look at the big picture dude if you only focus on the narrow information the media gives you then things are not clear. Again the easiest way to get Iran to stop is to give them reassurances that America will leave them alone.

USA gov are the bad guys. But you dont defeat them by force or by any nuc weapon. How you defeat the US Empire? You turn their financial weapon against them. All you need to do is to remove cheap money from bad guys control. It is relatively easy to do, saving metals is one weapon. Creating money out of thin air by borrowing and defaulting is an other, as long as you dont buy paper investments whit created money.
