The S/Y FAZISI, an 82 foot aluminum hull maxi yacht, was the first Soviet entry in the Whitbread Round the World Race in 1989.
In 1999, S/Y FAZISI was purchased by members of the Joseph Conrad Yacht Club, Chicago, IL, and sailed from Fairhaven, CT to Chicago, IL under Captain Isidore Ryzak, where she participated in the Mackinac Races on Lake Michigan in 2000 and 2001.
In June, 2009, S/Y FAZISI joined 2009 Tall Ships Atlantic Challenge in Bermuda. The itinerary for the 2009 Tall Ships includes Charleston, SC; Boston, MS and then Halifax, NS on 2009/07/16-20. From Halifax, S/Y FAZISI under Captain Waclaw Matuszewski and with the crew from Polish-Canadian Yacht Club White Sails is scheduled to sail to Toronto.
