i have a magnum 61 four stroke on my SE-5A WW1 plane.
engine is good but hardly to catch the best tune for it and also it is getting hotter than Os or saito engines. after last successfull tune i have flyed it for more than 30 times without any problems at all, also starts very easy after one or two turns with stick

Are you using four stroke gas ? Is it running too lean so the engine beem worn out and progressively the compression came to low ?

hows that thing running now. is it still running? I have one that I got about 10 or so flights on, each one progressively running worse and worse. I eventually retired the thing. I would like to get it running good at some point.

Hello I bought the os 120III surpass 4 stroke w/pump and set the needles as instructed from the instruction booklet. Low end needle..2.5 out. High end needle..1.5 out from closed position. The engine will not stay idleing at a good low rpm for too long and just shuts off...any ideas?

Some people are using power applied to the glow plug at low rpm with a switch on the throttle servo because it is cooling down too much at low throttle.

i have never had a magnum, but am bidding on brand new .52 on ebay. i was wondering if these are pretty reliable and a good buy for the price. i know saito, ys, and os are very good, and magnum and thunder tigre, arent necessarily bad, just a little lower. more economy like engines, anyway, just wondering if its a good engine.

I was very impressed how reliable this engine was. I have a lot of flight to the log and still running as new.

Cool vid...I have a question...Im now breaking in a os fs 120III 4 stroke. The instructions say i dont need the line from tank to muffler, what do you think?

Depends if the engine as a pump. If not , I would say Yes because when you'll fly it , you will put this pipe on. Then the air-fuel mix will change depending on the pressure inside the tank. So yes make the break-in with the pipe on the muffler and fly it that way as well. Hope this help !
