  • They are catching splake- a hybrid of a speckle and lake trout. Stocked by MNR every two or three years. Lots to catch early in the season when the water is cold. Lots of fun, but its getting a little too crowded for my liking. And too many people are leaving their garbage behind, damaging the trees with nails, leaving fire pits full of broken glass and beer cans. Note the green ginger ale bottle the guy is drinking from. Bet its still there. If you go pack out what bring in, or don't bring it.

  • I can assure you that the ginger ale bottle is not there. We respect this park - and follow the take only memories and leave only footprints mentality. We added this video for the enjoyment of fellow fishermen - no need for you to be rude.

  • where do you guys fish at Meaning (( STATE ))

  • Ontario, Canada.

  • mind sharing which lake these lakers came from?

  • Formerly known as Butt Lake.

  • Awsome Vid man...makes me wanna get out there fishing and camping with my buddies right now!!

@ Dkreath......The people most dangerous to the maintenance of our fish and greenspace are the ones who don't use it!

  • Great dashmar, glad to hear it. And my apologies to you, but not to those who are guilty. I get so pissed off at the amount of plastic and damage I find in the Park, (in the 40 years that I been paddling its lakes) , it leaves me feeling that being a little rude, is sometimes the only thing left, in otherwise a hopeless battle to save what's left. Good fishing this spring! And I mean that sincerely.

  • what do u use as lures and how deep are u or for out from the shore?

  • Batfan9, I have been on two trips into the park already and planning my third and longest one this spring. For me there isn't a more kick ass place than being miles and miles from anyone in the middle of algonquin. The weather is always the biggest factor but you roll with what you get and if your a die hard it won't spoil a thing.

  • im thinking of planing a fising trip there this spring is it really as nice as they say??

  • that is the longest, nastiest bogger i have ever seen, nice fishin though
