Trail changes are probably related to temp/humidity differences in adjacent air layers/masses. I see it a lot, although this was one of the most abrubt ones I've seen yet. It would be interesting to see that plane's cockpit T/H data. Note the 5th trail doesn't stop (perhaps at a diff altitude), then, cirrus begins forming behind the palm tree (looking kind of like a jet trail)- indications of vertical air motion which that we can't otherwise see. The atmosphere is sure fascinating! :-)
Everything you see in the sky is a trail left by jet aircraft. Since this is time lapse, you're seeing it at about 60x normal speed so it looks somewhat surreal.

Nice timing, though a bit weird !
How do you explain the disruption at the 4th trail...? The engines stopped ? I haven't seen this before....
