I've been playing live synth around Bristol Bars recently and this is the latest cover track I've done. You can find the backing track on Soundcloud if you have a synth or piano and want to play along at home. Backing made using Battery 3, Arturia Minimoog & Atmosphere. Lead melody live on the Dave Smith Mopho. I love the little yellow thing - dead easy for carrying around.

  • Lovely... Damn! I'm now thinking of getting a mopho KB. :)

  • @RealBadCompany - I have that problem also with synthesizers. Mind you i think I'm pretty settled with my present combination - live I play my Nord stage2 and a Minimoog Old School. At home I also have the Mopho/Tetra and a Doepfer modular. My 9 year old daughter has nicked my moog Little Phatty.

  • Pretty much the best demo on youtube !

2:00 sounds SO natural ... You know what would be so neat ... If you did another video of just of samples of the sounds you used. Just C or A majors ... Just for us samplers, you know ^ ^''

  • @mitchelljermaine - I was just thinking about what you wrote. I think the reason I like analogue synths rather than sample based keyboards, is that most of the aspects that actually make the sound can be altered in real time, like the oscillators, the vibrato, the filter. When I set up a patch I often have the aftertouch controlling a LFO like vibrato & modulation for cutoff. To me this gives a very expressive instrument - I think this is what makes it sound more natural.

  • Nice playing ;)

  • @hyperdust7 Sounds like a good set up there man. Really nice playing too. Clever daughter you've got there as well btw. :) I've been thinking about getting some decent hardware. Because, while I like soft synths, they just aren't a patch on the real thing imo. I recently got offered a second hand MEK for around the cost of a new Mopho KB. So I'm torn between the two. I'm into my Fat bass, so any ideas on which to go for? :) Many thanks, Robert.

  • coole sache das,....

  • why did i got the virus ;(

  • wow, best demo on youtube i guess! :)
