This video was made after the 3rd World Water Forum in Kyoto, Shiga and Osaka, Japan, March 16-23 2003. It was filmed in Chiba, Tokyo and mostly in Kyoto. Myself, I went to the event only for one day but the AQ21 team was there for a few days. Even though it was an important initiative and no doubt a lot was achieved and discussed, I felt it was lacking participants from the general public and very few young people were there. Tight security and the looming start of the Iraq war may have had something to do with this. Professionals exchanging information between themselves about their own projects, NGO, etc, and competing for attention... but from who? Although I liked the people demonstrating and chanting "We want water, not bombs!", I felt the whole thing was very far from my friends in West Africa who need to go get water at the well everyday... - Éric
PS: A note for the technical aspects: there were camera problems so we tolerated the glitches in favor of the content. I edited it at first on Final Cut Pro and updated it in iMovie HD to put it on the web.
