seriously this video is a joke, look at the HMS Sheffiled, 1exocet for sink it, here 3exocet and still there... just funny

@eikkkN HMS Sheffield was a batch 1 Type 42 Destroyer. This is a Type 23 Frigate, commissioned, on average, 15 years after Sheffield. Sheffield had an aluminium structure; heat from the impact caused a thermite reaction, and fire that sank her 5 days later. The Type 23 was designed with the lessons of the Falklands learned, exocet very much in mind.
USS Stark was his twice with exocets, but didn't sink. HMS Glamorgan once, and didn't sink, even though it caused a helo to explode in the hangar.

there is a new game called naval warfare arctic circle coming out in the 1st Quater of 2012-im 14 and british so i dont know what that means- and it is a modern RTS and is going to be a realistic modern naval simulator e.g. "one ship could effectively wipe out a whole carrier group if it gets close enougth" and i would of thought that you might be intrested in this because it is like DW as it has realistic ranges for missile planes and other stuff
>this is not spam, check it out it looks good<

Hey! What about the Entente Cordiale, guys?
-
As the name of this simulator and works with Windows 7.

@pjshotingstar the la fayette class are not stealth ships, they only have a reduced radar cross section but they are far from invisible. They would still appear on radar
-
@eikkkN Yes, hence why in this case it didn't. All four Harpoons were launched prior to impact.
-
@BertrumPantyshield A ship can surely survive to three exocet missile but can't fire back.
-
@eikkkN I'm not saying that the game is completely accurate, of course not, but at the same time there is evidence to suggest that a ship might be able to survive three Exocet hits. Indeed, all the Harpoons launched by the Type 23 were before it took hits, so it could have limped away after the LaFayette was sunk, not healthy, but still afloat.
Regardless, the argument is mute, I really can't envisage any scenario where the two ships fight. At least not in an own-goal scenario.

@BertrumPantyshield The exocet is not a missile made to sink the enemy ship but for damage seriously it and put it out of combat, the HMS Shieffeld is the proof! In brief this video demonstrates nothing very realistic.
anyone know what game this is ?

The Type 23's Sea Wolf SAM would have an extremely good chance of downing some of the Exocets, bearing in mind the Sea Wolf is extremely accurate, fast (M3) and the Type 23 has a 32 cell VLS of them! The Type 23 also has a CIWS. The La Fayette's Crotale missiles are not much better than MANPAD's, they aren't that effective against an ASuM like Harpoon from the Type 23. It's not really a fair contest, the Type 23 is a full on frigate whereas the La Layette is only a light frigate.

a Stinger is better than the Crotale, the crotale can barley even shoot down modern jets let alone any modern ASM
