when i said "carbs" i meant 'processed' carbs, not natural carbs.
and anything processed 99 times out of 100 has some levels of sodium.....again, good luck!

Younger people require more energy, especially females my age because we are considered to still be 'developing'. But the same is true for older people. As each decade goes by, your body will need less energy than once did 5-10-20 years ago.

First tip, give up carbs! BUT don't deny yourself ANYTHING...it's when we deny ourselves that we get caught up in the martyr complex associated with 'dieting'....just knowing you can eat it if you want to, makes the 'craving' lose a lot of it's craving-power. Hope this blathering makes some sense to you...and once again, GOOD LUCK!!

I disagree for a few reasons. First, carbohydrates are essential for the body to function just as cholesterol. However, i agree with giving up simple carbs like white bread and rice. I enjoy carbs however, i always try to add protein to keep me fuller for longer. Not to mention that many fruits and veggies have carbs too an they are great for you! My typical breakfast of 1-2 scrambled egss, 1-2 pieces 100% whole wheat toasts and an apple keeps me full for 4-5 hours EASY

I also believe in Metabolic typing. I haven't found out my metabolic type professionally, but i believe i am either balanced (carbs and protein) or on a higher carbs to protein type.
However, there are people who fair better on higher protein to carbs, probably like yourself. I have been experimenting with my two possible types and i know that cutting out carbs is not for me because i don't feel as good. My body is the best barometer for what is best for me so i listen

losing weight can be hard....GOOD LUCK
imo, it's just as important that you not only change what you put in your mouth, but change your attitude about what you put in your mouth. I've been obese most all my life and i finally changed my mental attitude towards food and that has helped me lose 100lbs almost effortlessly.

I agree. Attitude can make of break weight loss efforts. After beginning to eat better, i notice much more energy throughout the day and i am in a better mood. But when i don't eat healthy or don't eat on time, i get crabby fast. My big problem is being busy and not eating a full meal or eating nothing at all... Then in a few hours, i feel sick from not eating enough. As i progress, my road blocks seem to change too.
