And another note..WTF happened to Scott? Is he still stuck in limbo? Yet another problem with this mess of a movie. Stupid re-shot ending!

Heather O' Rourke, Nancy Allen, Tom Skerritt, Lara Flynn Boyle, Zelda Rubenstein, Kip Wentz, Richard Fire, and Nathan Davis.

Trivia

Producer David E. Kelley has quite a connection to this film. He cast Tom Skerritt and Zelda Rubinstein in his Emmy-winning TV drama Picket Fences after seeing them together in this film. The character of Skerrit's daughter was played by Holly Marie Combs on the show. That character is reminiscent in character and physicality to Lara Flynn Boyle's character Donna Gardner in this film. Nancy Allen was originally cast to portray the town's mayor in Season 2 of "Picket Fences" but had to drop out due to her contractual obligations to appear in RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3. That role was then filled by Leigh Taylor-Young.

Also...did just want to add that one of the reasons that MGM *may* have wanted to go forward with the re-shoot even after Heather died was because the original ending featured the shots of the "frozen" (and supposedly dead, but not really) "Carol Anne." They may have worried that audiences would find that scene especially tasteless in light of her death, and the only way to really remove it was to re-do the entire sequence. Just my theory, anyway.

Hey Mike,

Thanks for the excellent/funny review, and for the shout out for my site! Did you read the section with my "Gorezone" (U.K.) articles about the ending? It goes into much more detail, and shows how pretty much everyone I talked to who worked on the film contradicted the director's version of events, and how MGM wouldn't even confirm whether they still had the original ending footage in their vaults.

This is without a dought my favorite rant of yours Mike i haven't seen this film in years i rember feeling let down by this sequel.BTW That's a cool link you posted there that ending should've been in the finished film MGM are a bunch of dicks for doing reshoot that wasn't fucking needed IMO!
