What keeps people in abusive relationships is fear; it keeps them from telling other people and getting out because their scared that if the other person find out that they told that it will get worse. I wasnt abused by some one I dated but, I was by my dad, and I just up the courage to talk about it and now I'm working on getting out of here and as far away as possible.
Your completely right. Somehow people find a way to dissociate themselves from the horrible things that happen everyday.
The sad part comes when they go from being indifferent to thinking that its ok to write "she deserves it" (sadly I have seen that written a couple of times.)
