A special heart screening for high school athletes across West Michigan.

Inside the doctor's office at Borgess Medical Center, dozens of high school students lined up, filled out medical history forms, got their blood pressure tested and went through an E.K.G.

Parents are more concerned than ever after a star basketball and football player passed away earlier this year.

16-year-old star athlete Wes Leonard collapsed and died on the court after hitting the game winning shot for Fennville High School.

He died from an enlarged heart and his death has brought more attention to the issue with more concerned parents looking for answers.

During the testing on Saturday, doctors were looking for any thickening on the heart, "the idea is we're trying to screen those youngsters to assure we're not missing someone who might be at risk for such an occurrence," said Dr. William Lapenna.
