I replaced my 35 year old single pane windows with energy efficeint double pane windows about 10 years ago. My wife and I where so proud of our fancy new windows that we removed the screens because it seemed to make the house look nicer. Over the years, freinds who had sense would need a screen or two after one thing or another damaged thiers. Eventually I found myself devoid of all screens and wanting to open our windows. No longer concerned with how nice the house looked without them, I decided to make some screens that would cover the entire window opening instead of just the bottom half as they origanally came with.

  • Hidy from New Orleans man. What size lumber you using there? 1x2? I have this on my to do list, and have even bought the screen...which looks like yours...the sun reflecting stuff from the orange box lol. Thanks for the demo....exactly how I was thinking I could do it.

  • @countryboy158 Hello neighbor. I'm up north near Shreveport. The lumber was number one 1x2. The screen made such a difference in our air conditioning bill that I'm pretty sure they payed for themselves already. We also have a train track about 400 feet from our house and the screens cut the noise down a pretty good bit. If I can answer any questions, feel free to ask.
