Meadowview Construction was hired to build this 2 car garage in Hamilton, MA. Being in a Northern climate, they had to utilize a frost wall foundation. Red cedar shingle siding and asphalt roofing keep out the weather.

  • Rather than the music, it would have been better to have somebody commentating on the video. Good overview, but it does not help me who wants to build one, it is more like an ad for your good work.

  • @emanmen1 Yes, I agree. I need to work on this for my next videos.

  • Carefully built. Looks like they took care to do a good job. Personally I would much prefer larger eves to keep rain from dribbling down the walls. But, we get more rain here than they do in MA. I like the open rafters vs trusses. However, it looks like 2X4 framing. If so, this doesn't allow for much insulation - especially in a norther climate..

  • @cedartree696 We don't insulate garages unless requested. Thanks for the feedback

  • WOW! Great Video/ I wish i had the money to make this beautiful Garage at my house! I bet it was thousands of dollars! Great JOB :)

  • @dwestmc I looked up Mass Building Code for frost since I'm in MA and in planning phases of a detached garage. If the structure is less than 400 sq ft then this applies "exception to code sections 1805.2.1 and 5403.1.4.1, Frost Protection, does allow a 400 sq ft freestanding accessory structure to have an unprotected foundation". So if I plan right -albeit small - I can get away with less of a foundation wall since 20x20 was pushing it for my desired location. Good vid thx for sharing.

  • A nice build guys, the foundation looked to be a good one. The whole build is in keeping with the house and is easy on the eye. Well done.

  • i assume it was 40.000$

  • @irvingglc i assume 40.000$ to build and finish that nicely and pay weeks of labor

  • that is one hell of a strong construction there, beautifull build quality, bet it lasts for years and years, wish you were near me you would be hired in a heartbeat to build mine!, perfect!

  • @ghet5 not sure, the owner hired this out

  • @snipersquad100 New England frost depths require such a deep foundation.
