Inspired by Veronica Chater's memoir "Waiting for the Apocalypse," we gathered some friends to tell us about their own personal journeys of self discovery. In our small-scale exploration of coming-of-age stories, we found some unexpected intersections -- reminders that although our details are different, we may all be more similar than we realize.

We'll be screening clips from our interview series at The Booksmith (1644 Haight Street, San Francisco, CA) this Friday (February 27) in conjunction with Veronica's reading. We'll post that video on YouTube after the screening.

This video is a preview of the longer piece, and features Veronica talking about her memories of growing up Catholic in a family where the reforms of Vatican II are seen as the work of Satan.
