Nov. 15th, 2008: My built d16y8/z6 Civic, Wiseco/Eagle bottom end, rebuilt stock z6 head, e85, Borg Warner t3/t04e 50 trim turbo with .55a/r turbine, stage 5 exhaust wheel, ramhorn mani, 3" full exhaust. Made 329whp/281ft.lbs torque @ ~20.5psi, limited by stock valvetrain we chose to stop there to be safe. Dyno graph picture: http://repo.jackmoves.com/d/46257-4/DSC03263.JPG

  • What turbo are you using exactly and when does it spool?

  • @wingmangt All my parts are listed on my personal website, see my profile. The turbo in this setup is: Bullseye Power t3/t04e, 50 trim, .55a/r turbine with stage 5 wheel turbocharger. I don't remember exactly but it started building boost around 3k rpms. I went with the smaller turbine and bigger wheel so it would spool fast for the street (its primary purpose).

  • @jackmovesdotcom Thank you for the reply, I'm in the process of choosing a turbo for my D16Y8 and was looking for one that spools early (3.5k), but still manages to push it to 250-260WHP

  • @wingmangt Cool, that is a great turbo, highly recommended. Also, manifold makes a decent difference in spool time too. If you want quicker spool, don't go with the ramhorn. If I did it again I would get a shorter equal length manifold. The ramhorn is kind of overkill, but they look sweet :)

  • @jackmovesdotcom Ramhorns definitely look very nice, but I don't want to lose my a/c in the process, its a daily driver after all. Probably a mini ram or a bottom mounted log.

  • How much money did you have to put into the engine for that power?

  • @b20jdmintegra Dyno graph pic is in the video description. I chose the turbo for street use, I had a larger one in there before that made power way late and was terrible for street driving. And yea, were gonna try to push 350whp but decided to stay safe and not blow a valve or something :)

  • @jackmovesdotcom Thats an impressive build. Although its a 50 trim, borg warner is, imo, the best turbos you can buy. Im assuming you made power all the way to redline. Springs and retainers would make this thing scream. Nothing better than reving to 9k ;)

Do you have a pic of the dyno graph?

  • @b20jdmintegra For this car I used a Hondata system.

  • what ems do you use?
