Senator Dorgan introduces the "Electric Vehicle Deployment Act of 2010" to promote the rapid, near-term deployment of plug-in electric drive motor vehicles and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
This looks great. I am concerned, though, with the fact that so much of the electricity to be used comes from non-renewable, hugely polluting sources such as coal. By switching to electric cars that get their power from coal, we've not done much to fix the greenhouse gas problem; we've simply shifted the fuel. I want to see, in conjunction with this, a real climate bill. The congress has dragged it's feet for decades- it's time they act.
The Electric Vehicle Legislation will help clean our environment.

@9ptbuck It's easier to control a "single tailpipe" than millions. It will come.
