Just finished modding my Surfboard modem. I been having issues with disconnects lately and felt a good amount of heat emanating from the modem, so I came across this new fan I had in my closet and decided to put it to good use. I also had several BGA ram sinks that I decided to attach to the modems processor. Yeah yeah I know overkill, but why not eh? I have dozens of these fans lying around.
Anyway, if there was a heat issue it is no longer, lol....
Great video bro. Just got a quick question. Im planning on getting this router very soon. I heard you say something about at firmware mod and was curious about that. What does the mod achieve and is it worth doing?

@UGotTheFunk upon further research I discovered the firmware mods are dangerous and can get you banned by your ISP. So, I did not risk it. I visited sbhacker.net to do my research. Thanks

@rgray318 I was looking at both the motorola surfboard and your router. I heard the motorola can support a bunch of wireless devices by itself, so why do you have the router? And how is the quality of the two?

@XionInvention not sure where you heard that but this Motorola SB6120 is nothing more than a Docsis3 modem. It has no bells and whistles, and does NOT have built in wireless. I have it because the experts say its still the best D3 modem for stability. I have this router because when I bought it it was in the top 5 best routers according to SmallNetBuilder com. D-Link has a bad rap, but they are great at wireless-n and this router has been nothing short of stunningly solid. Thanks 4 your question
