So much more pure than Corelli's version. Corelli sounds harsh in comparison. Both, however, are two of the best five tenors in history.

JB did not sing the role on stage but did the aria in a 1951 concert and in the Met 1956 Gala concert. He also Recorded it again long after this one.

I think this is the best version, and Carlo Bergonzi's is second.

Pavarotti is the best in this aria in my opinion, this is quite nice version though

@1952a I think that Richard Tucker also sang this one well. Of course Caruso, Gigli, etc but for the modern era I like RT. Jussi B, of course, was super.

ho ascoltato in successione Lauri Volpi, Caruso, Gigli...ma la versione di Jussi è talmente strepitosa che non lascia scampo agli altri. Miglior tenore di tutti i tempi!

l'interpretazione di Björling è davvero sorprendente...sto studiando questo pezzo per un concorso e il modo in cui, aldilà delle dinamiche così poetiche, canta sul fiato mi lascia senza parole...e che suono...
