During the Channel V Hero filming, Chanyeol laughed, pointing out that even Kai’s chair is a dark color. Kai retorted with a straight face, “그래요. 나 까매요. 아주 까맣죠…” Translates into “That’s right. I’m dark. Very dark…” Then, he pointed to a couple fans in the audience, “Some of the fans here have a similar dark skin tone. It’s like I’m watching a bunch of Kai’s in front of me…like family.”Chanyeol sort of gave an apologetic pat on Kai’s shoulder, but Kai remained unamused.

i feel sad after hearing this..... they should be more aware and not even talk about it........ i like his skin tone its sexy , i hope even after all this 'joke' he doesnt think about changing his skin tone ,like whitening cleanser....

I face the similar problem except not because of skin color . Almost all my friends are Americans and they speak perfect English ,and a lot of them joke about my accent and the way I say"th " , I usually come back by saying other jokes about them and ppl laugh and get over it , a few times its fine because we are friends , but when ppl say it too much it really dont feel that comfortable since its not something that I can control

Uhm..sorry but you are very weak in mind!!

I have the opposite problem, I'm 1'70 too and I lwould love to be 52kg but I am 55kg! Always when I tell people I want to lose weight they start complaining and telling me I'm crazy, some even say I'm too skinny, but not like I'm going to listen to them XD.

But what I want to say is, you shouldn't be listening to others, do whatever makes you feel comfortable! Forget the others, I bet they're jealous of you!

lol wtf? Here where I live everyone makes jokes and gets on my nervers becasue I am so pale...and everyrtime I meet my cousins, they keep pissing me off with the same question everytime!

Well, I'm proud of being pale so I hope Kai's is proud of being tan too. I don't really get their teasing, fact is many asains are tan and not like Chanyeol's yellow-light skin is any better, comapred to white people he looks dark too! He should watch what he says!!

Joking with friends is normal, yes, I know. But people get fed up with the damn joke. Just because you may think it's funny, it may not be to others or the person you are directing the joke to. Just wait until the day Jongin gets super angry over it or cries, that the members finally realize it is a bad thing. Damn, people, jokes have their limits.

yeah i think all the commentors know that chanyeol was just joking. of course he didnt mean it offensively.

chanyeol eventually he realized that kai didnt like the joke and was upset about it, hence the "apologetic pat"

We're not hatin on that part. we're criticizing this typical view about skin tone that is flawed, and the teasing/joking that goes on in public amongst celebrities who are under the scrutiny of everyone
