  • listen i am a student of st helena parish and it is not all of us. The reason st helena is in the condition its in is because people dont care. Parents who know damn well they child dont want to be in school send them anyway and they pull down our test scores. Many of our studetnts are on the same level as others all around the country.

  • fritz,

what are you talking about? No one said that it was all of anyone. Secondly, the parents are suppose to send their children to school. I strongly disagree with you on the statements that you are making. No one said anything about the students. We are not questions the students level of learning.

  • To DaughterofJerusalem7,

I do agree with you that we need to do it for ourselves. I know for a fact that we can't trust the same oppressors to save us. However, I strongly disagree with the statement that you made concerning the Knight in Shining Armor. No one thinks that President Obama is a night and shining Armor. If you don't get out and cast your vote that is your choice. Please do not attack those black women that do.

  • I went to St helena schools and currently live in St helena I will not vote for a tax to rebuild the schools until i see some changes in the test scores or acountability

  • Are these schools damaged from hurricanes? I also come from a very poor and corrupt school corporation and what I come to realize that sometimes us blacks need to get it together ours selves instead on making demands of those who clearly don't give a damn about our kids. Homeschool is the answer. Wake up why have faith in a failing system trust in the Lord. By the way where is your knight in shining armor aren't you the same black women who went to the poles in droves for Obama?

  • Bless your hearts. What terrible conditions in this school. Many lawmakers just don't care about the kids in La. I hope that you recieve help soon. I called on your behalf. Please everyone call the La. Board of Ed. to help these teachers. 1-877-453-2721

  • Dr. Slan,

I think it is about time that we let others know the conditions of our educational systems that the Parish and State of LA have ignored. It is clear why this parish is at the bottom.

I was horrified at the sights! It broke my heart to know that these conditions exist in the USA. I thought I was viewing pictures of a third world country.

Shame on Louisiana that we can refuse stimulus money and be content with such deplorable conditions.

The children are in my prayers

    Edna
