D.C. Mayoral Candidate Leo Alexander on Unemployment; Undocumented Workers

The Politics Hour (January 22, 2010): Democratic candidate for D.C. mayor Leo Alexander talked about his reasons for running and criticized Mayor Fenty's handling of unemployment. Alexander's plan to decrease unemployment hinges on cracking down on undocumented workers in the city by placing stricter requirements on employers to check job applicants' immigration status.

The candidate is correct, that is the problem w/ DC, citizens cannot compete w/ illegal aliens. The interviewers are quick to try to denounce anyone who thinks other than a socialist. I moved from DC to Va., so that my vote can count for something that helps America, KOJO is probably an illegal alien that overstayed his visa and prospered because of a lack of enforcement. As an American who is Black, and 5 generations in DC, I know the problems w/ DC and he is absolutely correct.

I like how he makes the point that e-Verify is color-blind, it's only concerned with the results of the search for bad social-security numbers.
