A video of the historic first-ever Lane Bryant Cacique fashion show, which took place Feb. 1st, 2000.

Lane Bryant staged a total of four Cacique presentations from 2000-2003. Although they were popular events, customers repeatedly asked that the shows feature fuller-figured models (something that didn't happen until the last, best staging, in 2003).

Models taking part in this show include Lara Johnson, Kate Dillon, Mia Tyler, Natalie Laughlin, Alice Barstow, Angellika, along with celebrity models Anna Nicole Smith and Kathy Najimy. Also, Emme Aronson appears in the post-show interviews.

Compare the best images of plus-size models (seen at sites like http://www.judgmentofparis.com ) to the androgynous waifs who dominate the runways today, and you'll find that the fuller-figured models are actually far more attractive.

  • @SGFawkes a million thumbs up.. something told me to youtube "plus size modeling" and then i found this on the top of the list, then i noticed that they had the same type of body shape i had and suddenly i felt like i was no longer alone like my confidence went through the roof. it has changed how i look at myself forever :D

  • @deebro65 i feel you!! my husband is a chef and i enjoy his food.. I'm 5'0 at 115lbs and love it. i went down that path of being at 97lbs and its not worth it, i looked like a walking cancer patient. as a recovered anorexic, i vowed never to watch any "normal" aka walking toothpick fashion shows ever again..its disgusting

  • Beauty queens ! If you feel proud to be curvy after watching this, thumbs up girls !

  • wow that was realy good

  • this is more like it.

  • ahh....finally a fashion show that is Actually Inspiring

  • @kmcody I completely agree with you. Im trying to launch a label for all sizes but mostly plus size so im looking for a plus size label to see how their fasion shows go

  • I like my woman, big, chunky, curvaceous and thick, they are delicious and hot!!!

  • beautiful!

  • While I do agree that most models unrealistic sizes, Lane Bryant also shows women of smaller sizes in their industry. I have NEVER seen a size 32 model in Lane Bryant ads.
