Join KQED's Rob Schmitz on a tour of a "Zero Emissions House" in Koga, Japan, 40 miles north of Tokyo. Some of the home's greenhouse gas reducing technology: A 14 kilowatt solar panel array on its roof, a hydrogen fuel cell which generates energy by taking hydrogen from natural gas and using the byproduct, heat, for the home's hot water supply and space heating during the winter, a window with PV film inside of it, a 'waterless' washer/dryer, and of course, every energy efficient appliance you can think of.

  • Ozone for laundry? Amazing! I wonder how effective that is. I'll definitely look into that.

The water-absorbant ceramic walls are a neat idea as well.
