As far as I know the central gov. gives hundred of millions of birr every year to somali region. Where is that money going? These ppl should blame their own ppl. who are stealing from these starving children rather than blaming the central gov.

the money is going directly to the people. a group of australians are running the project and it is being built by the raaso people. no money goes to the gov.

no gov money goes to these 85,000 somalis... their situation falls under what is called tribal conflict. which means no gov. money or NGO's can help them. this is a conflict between adults. but that doesn't mean that children should suffer. it's a shame if people are mis using gov money. but it's rare for any government to indiscriminatly give money to anyone. they would never just hand over money to somalians and let them do what ever they want.

Two years on and Raaso still endures very great hardship! You will not find it on a map! These Somali Ethiopians (approximately 80,000) live 680kls south of the capital of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa, in very rough terrain - in Somali Region 5. I am an Australian working with a small group of other volunteers to build a hospital in Raaso, with donated money, so that these wonderful people, and their neighbours from all surrounding districts, can have some level of health care. Love to all.
