  • With pulling out those fan connectors do you pull up or towards the fan? Thanks for your help

  • @charnk - You pull up.

  • I have a 2.8Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor in my late 2009 MacBook Pro 17" Unibody. Can i upgrade just the processor or do i need to buy an entire new logic board to upgrade the processor to an i7?

  • @AppleStoreNYC - You have to buy a whole new machine.

  • Can you replace the logic board if you just want to upgrade the processor, you cant just do the processor right, but can you buy the whole logic board?

  • @philiprawks - You can upgrade only between the same model revisions. It can be done but isn't worth the cost as a replacement logic board is over $1000 in most cases.

  • do you have a fan removal video for a MAC BOOK PRO 17'' YEAR 2008 ?

  • @PowerbookMedic Thanks for the reply, but ; Ouchhh, that is quite expensive.

I think if ill be desparate to upgrade i could sell my current mac and replace it, effectively upgrading it. Or ill get an SSD cos that speeds up the system aswell!
