[The next few weeks went by. Nick was less and less snippy. Demi kept her normal routine. And Joe, well he kept asking Demi out, and kept getting rejected.]
Demi: No Joe *she was at her locker before heading to lunch, when Joe asked her to hang out that afternoon*
Joe: *hurt* ok, I guess I will see you at lunch
[Demi sighed when she sat next to Sel, Taylor, Kevin, and Nick at lunch]
Nick: *glanced up* again?
Demi: *nodded*
Taylor: Why don't you just go out with him once?
Sel: *sighs, Taylor knew Demi was always busy* She doesn't have time
Kevin: Joe has never acted like this before
Nick: So, he needs to just move on
Taylor: or demi just needs to say yes for once, I mean she never dates anyone
Sel: Let her be Taylor, she doesn't want to waste her time with a guy, she wants to focus on getting out of here
Kevin: Why is she so determined to leave?
Demi: *waves her hands* Hello?! Still here! *rolls her eyes* all a relationship does is causes problems and drama.
Joe: *from behind* or fun
Demi: Joe, hi *she scooted over and he sat next to her*
Nick: *whispers to Demi* maybe they're right
Demi: *sighs and looks at Joe* I dunno...
[Demi thought about it the rest of the day, then after practice she walked over to Joe. Nick saw her coming and said something to Joe before heading towards their car]
Demi: Hey Joe
Joe: Hey, what's up *this is the first time she had approached him*
Demi: Um, what are you doing tonight
Joe: Dinner with the family, I'd ask you to join but... *his voice trailed off*
Demi: but... *waiting for him to finish*
Joe: *sighs* I know you're just going to say no
Demi: Do you? *smiling*
Joe: *confused* I thought, *pauses before slowing saying* Do you wanna eat dinner at my house tonight?
Demi: *laughs* I'd love to
Joe: *raises his eyebrows* really?
Demi: Yes *smiling*
Joe: Ok great! *stands up excited* I will pick you up in 30 minutes?
Demi: *thinks: I will have to rush* sure
[Demi rushes home and braces herself to ask her mom]
Demi: Mom, do you have to work tonight?
DM: No, but I was going to meet the girls later
Demi: What time, because Joe invited me to dinner and he wanted to pick me up at 6:30 *glances at the clock, 20 minutes to get ready*
DM: *surprises demi by smiling* Of course you can go to dinner with him! Just try to be back by 10.
Demi: *shocked so she nods* ok
DM: Hurry! Go take a shower
[Demi rushes and gets ready, still a little surprised her mom is letting her go. 20 minutes later the doorbell rings]
Demi: *opens the door* hey
