In mid June, I came home to find a mother and 8 baby ducklings hanging out in my pool. Estimated to be only a couple of days old, this video is a short documentary from their discovery to their escape/ rescue in the 2 days that they were here

  • This video is included in a "ducks and geese" playlist my 2 year old watches while I do homework and it's by far her favourite. It's the only one that she sits and watches the whole way through every time it comes on!

  • @TheLizarellaProject Thank you for letting me know - very nice of you.

  • My four year old grandsons and I are REALLY ENJOYING THIS

  • @abilich11 Thanks for the vote of confidence :-) You might also like my latest: "24 - A Day In the Life Of Pippin The Cat" who's also in this duckumentary.

  • whats wrong w u ppl? couldnt u give a little help for the poor little guy?? i just cant believe u left him in the pool.

  • Sad that one didn't make it. Why did you let the ducks struggle to get out of the pool? I would have put a lounge chair for the baby ducks to waddle up to land rather than having to struggle to jump. They maybe back next spring, be prepared this time and put something out to leave the pool.

  • Um, was there chlorine in that pool? oO I imagine it might not be all healthy for our feathered friends ^^;

  • @arahlle They should've just put a wooden plank or something to help the ducklings get out safe and sound.

  • D; awww poor dead duck

  • @fbewers77 nature took its course. you shouldn't mess with nature.

  • The one duckling left behind....you see it hysterically crying/calling for its mommy while trying to jump out of the pool yet failing. The next part of the video when the guy says they called the wildlife people to rescue it, it seems more calm and isnt crying at all. Its almost as if at that point it knows its been left behind and has to fend for itself.

  • Was the chick dead flothing in the water

  • You are a dummy for not helping that little baby out when he was alone. You should be ashamed of your self.

  • @LimeyInSD Thank you for having the grace to apologize; that's more than others here have done and I commend you for it. Believe me, I got no joy out of seeing an abandoned duckling and had several dialogs with Animal Protection Services over those 2 days, who directed me to the course of action to take and eventually came out and got the little guy when I made it clear that the mother was not returning.

  • @86LadyLady Ah, another presumptuous insulter who not only evidently didn't see me in the pool trying to coerce it out of there but who also lacks the basic understanding that ducks in their native element are WAY faster than humans, (fish too, by the way). You try "picking a duck up" if you have any doubt. In the meantime, I won't sink to your level and through an insult back at you, not worth it. Good luck with that attitude, though...
