This is not traditional kung fu. Its sanshou/ Sanda kickboxing. Ordinary kung fu has no chance. Sanshou kickboxing is very similar to muay thai. Sanshou is the art of kicking punching throwing and some standup grappling.

this was done by a chinese organisation, probably instigated by the goverment, who guarantees that the japanese fighters are even truly japanese? And were they free to send whoever they wanted? this seems very staged to me. Also the rules allow throwing, so this is some kind of MMA K1 hybrid, not a karate\kungfu competition, the japanese fighters should be using judo in that case. My 10 cents.
