A song in support of the Getacross campaign in Auckland. Let's have some cycle lanes on the Auckland Harbour Bridge. It would be stupid not to.

The Electric Era was formed in 2004 and has released two albums so far, with a third set for release in December. Lead singer and guitarist Karsten Schwardt lives on Auckland's North Shore and cycles to the city daily. After taking part in the 'bridge walk' in May 2009, he produced the video 'Cycling On The Harbour Bridge'.
The band releases their third album 'Too Many Damaged Heroes' in December. While the Harbour Bridge song is not on the album, the music video to Cycling On The Harbour Bridge will be available on DVD during the show as well as via The Electric Era website, with proceeds going towards the Getacross campaign for a cycle and walkway on Aucklands Harbour Bridge.

Great video! What a nonsense to ban all non-motorised taxpayers from using the only viable link between two large cities! I still feel this is in violation of basic human rights. Opening the bridge immediately for everyone and all modes of transport is the only just option here!

Ka Pai! Awesome video and song. I'm so proud of all the work people are doing to champion this incredibly worthwhile cause. In a world where there are the problems of climate change, obesity, rising fuel prices and limited oil supplies, it is absolutely crazy that pedestrians, cyclists, tourists, etc, can't get across the AK harbour bridge except in a motorised vehicle. Solidarity from the SF Bay Area where we are banned from cycling between San Francisco and the East Bay on the Bay Bridge! You're in Auckland, we're in Oakland but our struggles are one and the same! Society must be high on petrol fumes or something :)
