I have often wondered about having the surgery purely from an esthetic point of view. If you visit my channel at posturevideos you can see my video on bunion self treatment to see the severity of my bunion. About the same as your left one. I just think it is really unattractive and I'm so sporty I want good alignment. Did you have yours done for pain relief?

I need a bunionectomy

Did you later develop a problem with hammer toe of the toe next to the large toe?

i had bunion surgery done 2 weeks ago. But my foot looks nothing like that, the doctor has basically stretched out my big toe away from the lest of my toe. It really looks worse than when i started, the doctor keeps telling me within a couple of months it will all join back together. I had a screw placed in my big toe. Do you also have screw?
Your foot looks great!
Wow! What a difference! I can't wait to get my feet done... but in a way, I don't want to cause I'm scared. I have really large bunions on both feet, AND I have flat feet. My doctor said that my feet are positioned wrong as well.... MAN, my feet hurt so bad at times... but I can't get surgery untill my feet stop growing, and I'm only 13 years old...

@Wildheart228 I admit it was a little scary to think about having surgery. But it was really worth it. Be sure to look at my update because it looks even better now, and I don't have any pain.

picker68,
Thanks for posting. Am considering the same. Question though, which bunionectomy did you have? Austin or Lapidus?

@NinaBlueNJ Neither! It was a Scarf/Akin procedure. Good luck.

@jetnight88: I was awake the whole time. When the numbing wore off it hurt quite a bit for the first day. I didn't have a wheelchair but that would have made life a little easier the first week. After one week I was fine with crutches and could get around ok.
