I like James Franco's interviews. He always seems so genuine and relaxed. Not rehearsed at all. I have seen the same actor give the same exact answers to questions on multiple mtalk shows. How boring. James Franco is usually interesting.

For those who are interested what James Franco has written about his stint on GH can just google "James Franco performance art" and you should be able to find an online article, written by him, on the Wall Street Journal called "A Star, a Soap and the Meaning of Art"

His manager called up GH…and when asked what he wanted to do, if he wanted to write or be any character he wanted, all he said was that he wanted his character to be a both an artist and crazy as well…and he wanted them to come up with everything else. And James’ mother was also in it as well, playing Franco’s mother looool. And he said in an interview his mother, whose first professional acting job was in GH, was playing it like she was stoned and he found that quite disturbing haha.

On an interview on DeGeneres' show, he says that soaps should be taken seriously and people looks shouldn’t look down on soap operas…and he even accepts that it is actually hard work because stories have to be churned out weekly...whereas in a film, you can’t have storylines that run for years because all the storylines are encompassed in one film (or sometimes in a sequel etc). Plus, since he doesn’t receive the scripts in one go, unlike in movies where you do, he is constantly surprised etc
