  • Looks great...my single barrel system may grow up one day to be like yours..LOL.....Just drove me crazy all the trips to HD trying to get the right pvc fittings...But actually saw a video on YT where the guy directly piped his rain barrel system to flush his toilet in the bathroom!! Now I thought that was clever!

  • @CastIronWatchman Ok now that would be cool. I know a few folks that could benefit from a system like that.

  • Cool setup!

  • @Birchbarkjohnny Thanks.

  • @1oldarmyguy I currently have my barrels on two stacked concrete blocks. I'm using a 50' hose.

  • @stevewitt54 The best way to increase pressure is to increase the elevation of the system. I do believe the ratio is 1foot elevation creates 1 psi of pressure. How long of a hose? I attached a 10 foot length just to make filling the water cans easier. I have not tried a longer length as of yet.

  • @1oldarmyguy I built a two barrel system and have good pressure out of the barrels, but when I attach a hose, I only get a dribble from the end. Is there any way to increase pressure??

  • @kalif151byccrew you seem to be missing an over flow pipe. When the barrels fill up completely then the water will just start spewing out the top. You might consider a overflow pipe at the top of the far right hand barrel so you can control where your run off will go.

  • @kalif151byccrew that is a really good idea. I did find some foam type you put in the gutter...but of course it was after my neighbor's cottonwood trees wrecked havoc for three weeks. Thanks for the comment.
