Not only do most athletes associate protein with meat, dairy and eggs, but also believe that they need tons of protein to build muscle mass. Living on a raw vegan diet based on fruits and vegetables I found out that it's absolutely no problem to get enough protein.
Did you know that pineapples contain protein? And what about watermelon? Yes, they also contribute to your daily protein intake. In short, every fruit and veggie include protein. If your diet is based on those raw whole foods, you will get protein for building muscle mass and getting lean and strong.
The amount of protein in fruits varies by the sort of fruit. Dried fruits generally contain the most protein because they are dehydrated. If you favor fresh fruits, then go with cherries, bananas, papayas and kiwis for the highest protein content.
On the veggie side of things select spinach, apargus, broccoli, cauliflower or potatoes as your staples to get the most out of your meal in terms of protein.
The health benefits you'll get from a raw food plant based diet are obvious. Each and every bite you take is full of vitamins, minerals and enzymes, that help you build muscle, lose weight and improve your immune system.
