Help is urgently needed for the animals in this rural shelter in Culpeper, VA.

http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/VA410.html

Remy is a beautiful, loving boy who needs out of the shelter like yesterday. This is no exaggeration. If there were a reward system in the shelter for a best all around animal according to staff members Remy would take the prize paws down.

Please watch and share with everyone you know this video. You never know where the next hero or angel for the animals may be coming from to help. Also, please visit their petfinder site for more information on these and more animals in need of their furever loving homes today.

Below are a number of items needed to make their lives more comfortable while in the shelter. If you can not adopt at this time please consider sponsoring an animal or making a donation.

We are a county shelter and animal control in the same building. We take in strays and owner surrenders. We try to find all the animals a loving forever home. Due to the high number of animals the shelter receives it's not always possible. Please help us save a life by adopting a homeless pet and having your pets spayed or neutered!

Our Adoption fee for cats/kittens are 2 for $25.00, with the understanding that you have them spayed or neutered. If the cat is spayed or neutered the adoption fee is $90.00, that includes the spay/neuter rabies shot, FVRCP shot, Felv test, and deworming. Puppies 6 months old and under will be adopted out only to families that are touching Culpeper County, because they are too young to be spayed or neutered. Their adoption fee is $45.00, with the understanding when they are old enough you have them spayed or neutered.

The shelter is always in need of items, if you'd like to donate something, here's what we really need.

Shelter Wish List:

Dog food (canned & dry)
Cat food (canned & dry)
Towels
Beds
Food Bowls
Wire or plastic crates
Pet shampoo
Pet grooming supplies (brushes, combs, etc.)
Toys

  • Innocent animals are killed everyday because of irresponsible breeding. Spaying and Neutering needs to be free. Write your Congressman, Representative and Presiden Obama and tell them this. It can be implemented easily by putting a refundable tax credit on the 1040. Payback would be immediate because an intact animal can produce over 100 offspring, most of which are killed or cause other shelter animals to be killed.

  • I love your idea. We also thought maybe since most States in the USA require that the pet be registered. a.k.a.licensed. If the fee for an unaltered pet was much higher then it is for an altered pet. Say closer to the cost of the surgery maybe more people would do the responsible thing by choice. But I like the idea of it being free because this is the excuse many use to not have it done. Together we can make a difference.

  • If you cant take from this shelter please go to your local shelter. Adopt, sponser or just take toys and blankets to the shelters.

  • Animals are just like us! The ONLY difference is the intellect - that's all! They have needs! They love! They hurt! They feel pain and sorrow. A society can be judged by the way they treat their animals! - Gandhi

    WAKE UP PEOPLE!

  • That's ok Teenskee no offense taken :) Thank You for taking the time to rescue them and giving those animals another chance at love, life and freedom :) I'm glad there are people like you who care enough to help rescue those in need.

  • Aww this video made me cry because there are so many beautiful, loving, loyal, friendly, forgiving animals in shelters and not enough people to adopt all of them. The animals you showed are absolutely adorable. I hope and pray that they will find their furever homes sometime soon. Thank You for sharing this video with us, wonderful choice for background music. S/N should be required Asap. Breeding animals should be illegal in every state. Store pets shouldn't be discriminated against or ignored.

  • thanks for posting this video i have two dogs and 2 children already.

  • Nice! Our shelter here is just now overflowing with animals also. People that are thinking about getting a pet should just do it. It makes such a difference in the positive energy of the home.

  • Good video. All of us that have rescued appreciate your efforts and wish we could help more.

  • You did a nice job and thank you for posting and sharing this 5 star video. I have 2 german shepherds dogs and I only wish I could adopt.

  • I know my friend. Really I do. I get so many of these videos to save the shelter dogs, I got mad. They give you like one day to try to save them, and when I'm on the other side of the country from where the shelter is, like I said, it ticked me off.

I have to agree with you that people need to stop the breeding and and put an end to all puppymills. Sorry I made you mad too. (andro)

  • Thanks for sharing this important video with me Gary. :o)
