  • @bhiller08 Ok, so you have performed this concerto with and orchestra and recorded it as well? You have mastered the piece to the extent that your fingerings are absolute law? Primrose himself had fingerings that he was self-conscious of because he people would not like them. Pearlman has been quoted to say that he himself prefers to slide with one finger given the situation. Those two performers are not too bad are they? So watch your language keep your harsh words to yourself.

  • Can I draw Viola lovers to the Delius Viola Sonata on You Tube? It's gorgeous.

  • i love this concerto... it just feels like he's playing notes, rather than actually feeling the music. he did a good job though. playing without the music may have helped though. and everyone's different. Youll never know how difficult anything is until you do it yourself. even then, you probably havent discovered everything. never assume.

  • This is a wonderful performance!

I give it 4 out of 5 stars! And I seldom rate anything higher.

  • jajaja tiene razon, pero es cosa del video, yo estaba en el publico ese dia y la viola se escuchaba muchisimo mas que en el video, que lastima ya que se escuchaba muy diferente

  • To me this rendition is not top-rate. Tho' Walton favours a lyrical 1st movement there should still be lots of intensity and excitement - led by the soloist!! This rendition is a bit pedestrian. At points (eg 3:56 ff, 4:10 ff) it's really laboured instead of "punchy". Also I get the feeling he's a bit scared of hitting those high positions. I do love the Neoromantic passion tho', for which Walton is famed, and both soloist and orchestra delivered this exquisitely. So, well done there!!

  • Au acho que tá bom
