Here's a clip of Farzad doing a straight razor shave at Farzad's Barber Shop. This is the second pass of the razor to ensure the closest, smoothest shave. Noriko is also finishing up a shave with hot and cold towels before applying after-shave balm.

  • This is cool :) I love this old fashioned shaving , I would feel like Al Capone in a fancy hotel , lol .. Can I ask do I need an appointment or you accept walk ins as well ?

Also, how much is the haircut ? I live in coal harbour , are you open on saturdays ?

  • @afraasiab Thanks for your comment. We do accept walk-ins but it is always best to book an appointment as we usually get fully booked every day. A haircut is $30, as is the shave, so $60 for both, and we book half an hour for each service. And yes, we are open on Saturdays. You can also see more about the shop and our services on our website.

  • Hey there,

I'm in Vancouver and definitely interested in swinging by one day. Just a quick question... do you advocate shaving with the grain? I personally use a safety razor and with the very acute angle of my beard growth I am virtually unable to shave against the grain... just wondering what your thoughts are with your many years of experience... thanks.

  • @pc533ecx You're doing the right thing by shaving with the grain. Normally this is always best, especially for everyday shaving, as there will be much less irritation, even with sensitive skin. There are certain faces and certain occasions (like a wedding day, for example, when you want to give the groom a really close shave) where shaving with the grain is appropriate, but again, only some faces will allow you to do it. Overall, shaving with the grain is always a good idea.

  • Very nice video and thanks for posting.

A quick question if I may...

what type/brand of aftershave balm do you use?

Can you recommend some good types of aftershave balm?

    cheers...

  • @emosh73 Thanks for your question We use a product called Skin Food by Geo F. Trumper here at the shop and we love it. It's excellent as an aftershave balm and can also be applied pre-shave. All of our clients really love it, too.

  • nice excelia razor ;)

  • A young fella is easy. I wanna see a video of you giving a shave to a 80 year old that doesn't have any dentures in. You know.....the kind you have to fish hook just to get to the corners of the mouth. Sorry man I don't like being a critic and looked like you know your stuff - I'm just saying. The video is like a ball player making a layup.

  • @slayerguitar not bad if im ever in vancouver ill be there!

  • @slayerguitar Our shave is $30 (incl. HST).
