Two BNSF Intermodal Trains at Glade WA 8 Oct 2011

Spent a few hours chasing trains on a gorgeous early Fall afternoon. Found an eastbound intermodal slowing for the signal at the east end of Glade siding. I figured that there must be a westbound approaching, and wondered what kind of train the dispatcher would let a hot intermodal cool its heels in a siding for. The answer: another hot intermodal, of course!

The westbound had a CSX AC6000CW leading, with a BNSF SD-70M, BNSF Dash 9-44CW and NS Dash9-44CW trailing. Power on the eastbound was more ordinary, but just as fun to watch.

This was taken from the shoulder of US highway 395, so most of the sound is from the passing traffic, but the trains pretty much drown it all out once they reach my location.

I agree, very unusual to see the foreign power leading. Didn't break my heart, though. I should've chased it back to Pasco for a few still photos.
