@SlaveToTheTheater Our staff kicked our butts in two long and painful rehearsals in Cali leading up to the Rose Bowl, and we marched a 5.5 mile parade 3 hours before we marched this show, as well as our pre-game show before kick-off. Everyone in the band was exhausted, and personally I was still jetlagged from the flight in. I'm damn proud of this show, though, and I'd like to see your band attempt to sound as good as this while going through everything we did leading up to this performance.
@ashley7elizabeth but still, if your band is going to be so selective about its members, then their playing abilities should enable them to play a song as easy as bohemian rhapsody with accuracy and tone quality that surpasses a high school band with no prerequisites or audition process.
I know this is alittle late, but you also might not have think about the quality of the camera and also that your band has a whole year to play that over and over but we do it in a week...Thanks Go State!
I checked the copyright info on my part, and it says "Arranged with permission of Hal Leonard Corporation for the exclusive use of the Penn State University Marching Band," so I guess that's an unfortunate no. As it is, from what I hear, it's a major pain getting the rights to play a song by Queen. We had wanted to do this show for years, but only managed to get the rights for it last season.
I'm a member of the band that is on the field, and I must say, after doing a 5.5 mile parade, a taxing pregame, to do this show (which was a challenging show) after having only 2 days to rehearse it while in Cali plus a month break, we did damn well. The "missed direction changes" is not technically missed. Some of us were changing directions so fast, that it may appeared to have been missed but it wasn't. And the feet together, i didn't see. And i agree with psujimblue. For The Glory!!
Go figure, a USC fan bashing an opponent's band. At least the camera didn't pick up what USC's band was saying on the sidelines. That would have been pretty embarrassing.

Too many feet out of phase to even know what was right. Several missed direction changes. One guy mistakenly halting with feet together. Mellophone playing a run passage in the wrong key, 4 times. People on the sideline talking louded than the band is playing.

This wouldn't happen to be available for, say, a High School Band, would it?
