Funny story for all you Buddy Holly fans out there; When Buddy was in high school, during an assembly he and a friend of his dedicated this song to one of the teachers and Buddys parents just wanted to sink into their seats from absolute and total embarassment.

It was a sport when we were kids to run and jump of the high end of the porch...to see who could jump the furthest. I was showing some of the grandkids that sport from our deck just 18 inches off the groud. I'm 60 now and I hurt from the sole of my feet to the top of my head. My brother is putting a rail up around the deck to keep me from 'falling' off again. But the grandkids are havin fun until then.

I saw them and the Grand Ole Opry in 1967. It was quite a show

In 1966 I saw the Carlise' at the Ryman for a Grand Old Opry show. They were very entertaining.

Of course this is Chet on lead, and I've always known that, but MARTHA CARSON is singing the girl's part!!!! (look up Martha here on youtube - the greatest white Gospel singer that ever lived!!

Oh man that brings back some memories. I just started playing fiddle at the Buffalo Island Jamboree in Monette Ar. in 1975 when he came over and did a show there. It was great, Bill was an entertainer that is for sure.
Enjoyed it, Thanks.

OH MY, I can identify with that one. Thanks for posting.
