If there is a clinch in freestyle (no score after 2 minutes), an additional 30 second, sudden death, overtime period is implemented. The starting position for the clinch deliberately gives one wrestler an advantage. Originally, the advantage wrestler was selected by a flip of a disk, but it was too easy for officials to cheat (single color disks, flipping the disk over when they pick it up, etc.) So to eliminate cheating a red ball and blue ball are put in a bag.
