Someone I talked to once thought that this game happened in the Child Timeline.
I said "Actually, I think this game is meant to tell what happened after Ocarina of Time Link defeated Ganondorf who was sealed in the Sacred Realm by the 6 Sages & Princess Zelda who made Link disappear (to relive his childhood)."
I actually used to think Twilight Princess came before this in the Adult Timeline, but now I agree with most people that it's in the Child Timeline following Majora's Mask.

i just installed a dolphin emulator on my comp.. been playin this game .. this game is my childhood .. the sound of flute the intro is just too much . . gave me freakin goosebumps ...

Have never seen a game bigger then ocarina of time and has not seen one better same for this still have no seen anything like this. And now we will not get anymore games like this probably

@uzimakiking I think the whole idea of Legend of Zelda is it's less a series and more a collection of legends passed down through Hyrule. Of course, a few of the games have direct sequels, but most are supposed to be different versions of the same legend. That's just my opinion, though, I really don't want to start a time line argument! :-)
