No Regrets- Billie Holiday 1936
Billie became more recognized and would now record under her own name. In this first session on July 10 1936 it became Billie Holiday and her Orchestra. Her sidemen were Bunny Berigan trumpet, Artie Shaw clarinet, Joe Bushkin piano, Dick McDonough guitar, Pete Peterson bass and Cozy Cole drums. Even though Billie had never worked with most of these musicians before, she must have heard them in clubs around 52 Street and the results are obvious.

  • this is the same band who gave her drugs, so I dont care how good they sound, they ended her life, she should of stayed with her black people, because Ella Fitzgerald and Ethal Waters, Lou Armstrong. All these black artist of her time, they lived to the70's some the 80's, Fuck this White band, I know she wanted to sell to the white crowd, and some places still treated her bad. Black musicians back then can play waaaaaaaaaaay better than this white drug dealing band. Fuck them and fuck you!

  • @rockabillybaby4

That is cool that you like her music but dont be so sure, i dont think you're the only one. Good taste has one age ;-)

  • thats diana ross at the beginning

  • if i could have any singing voice in this universe, it would be billie holidays. i wouldn't talk at all, i'd just sing all damn day.

  • superb!!!

  • I first heard Billie Holiday song in 1992 while in a vintage book store in Little Five Points, Atlanta GA. I couldn't believe how wonderful and unique her voice is. I became a fan in those first few minuets, and still listen to her. No one,in my opinion, can equal her talent and soul. Her early death in the late 1950's was a great loss to all of her past, present, and future fans. I hope somehow she knows how much she is loved.

  • Nothing better for the ears

  • brilliant - what better use could you find for 2 1/2 mins on a monday morning - least thats what im doing. Billie i love you xx

  • who cares what age you are? I just like her.
