My father and my mother both grew up in small houses just outside of big cities. 6 years ago they started their own business on their own. They risked all of their inheritance money on this business and if it didnt work out then we would have had to pay the consequences. Fortunately it did work out and he is now making over 150k off their hard work. My father works over 12 hour days 7 days a week while my mother fought M.S. and breast cancer. Obama personally insults me. They DID build it.

Obama should have found a different way to say that government infrastructure was important. By saying "you didn't build that", "someone else made that happen", and "it wasn't because you were smarter and worked harder", even in context, were definite insults to individual determination. All of those statements absolutely DID imply that the fruits of your labor are collectively owned. It was socialist code for "the government giveth and the government can taketh away".

You have no idea what it is like to start your own business. The sacrifices you have to make are ones I wish people never have to make. No wonder not everyone does it. Especially when government steps in and makes it even harder. My parents deserve every penny they make and you have no right to say they dont.

I'm totally against socialism. It's a freaking nightmare for this country. I've come upon a few 'businesses' lately in my line of work that are 'non for profit' . It just seems totally like some scam, some sort of socialism in that they don't care about selling or not selling, cause they have no need to - a literal store front large location in a commercial area Retail mind you, but how can they get funded ? Just cause they are 'nonForProfit' ?? Makes no sense to me

Exactly! This was ONE moment in the president's life, a 5 second statement - and the conservitive WEAK minded media tries to constantly make it something HUGE, it's not huge. Just as the liberal media does the same, like 2 jr. high school foot ball teams.

what did i say is wrong? he said that no one become successful without help. so is it from now on if i want to congratulate someone on their success, i should also remind them that they dont do that without help? why dont we just recognize someone success without trying to put them down by saying "but you didnt do that by yourself".
