In this tutorial, I will show you how to make an 8 bar Dubstep drum pattern. We will also use some layering techniques to get our drums sounding good, and some more advanced techniques to maximize the the sound of our drums.

The drum samples and Redrum patch used in the tutorial can be downloaded from the following

  • I always admit people, who can set up the masterpiece from a sketch... i always begin doing things in the haaard way, unless someone shows me the basics! ty very much :)

  • where do i download this program mate?

  • @Mc3FlowProductions WELL SAID MATE! Cheers!

  • Don't know what the fuss is about. He's trying to show the drum patterns typical for Dubstep and to see that as a whole it makes sense to lay it out in the piano roll window not the Redrum step/pattern mode. Pause the screen on the straight 4/4 and then on the dubstep and you can clearly see what the difference is i.e. snare only on the 3 doubled up with the kick. As for no commentary, thought it made a refreshing change and helped the tutorial move along at a decent pace.

  • @jrockaroni Hello, I'm having problems with the kit you made me download, I have no clue how to get it in Redrum :s

  • Cheers good tutorial

  • @jhscotty yeah

  • hey there, great going m8. There will ALWAYS be haters, most likely the ones hating is those not even making music themselves. Everybody has to start somewhere and this tut is great for starters. Big up's! ;)
